Why Story Islands?

A few people have about why I chose the name Story Islands. Well the best way to answer that is to go back a few years (more than I would like to admit). When I was a child there was nothing I liked better than reading. I devoured every book I could get my hands on. My love of reading was all started by my dad. He would read stories to me every night before I went to sleep. I remember struggling to stay awake to hear what would happen to Bilbo Baggins. While he read to me he would act out the voices with the help of my favourite soft toy Bubbles. Bonus picture of my dad below

I kept Bubbles and my love of reading with me on my travels. Then something magical happened. I got my first sewing machine and started making soft toys. When I make each one it reminds me of my own childhood and the importance of early childhood literacy.

It's my hope that each of these toys will be a well loved companion for a child or someone who is young at heart. Life is a story filled with memories triggered by the things we hold dear to our hearts.
